The National Junior Beta Club is a non-secret, non-profit, leadership-service club. Its purpose is to encourage effort and reward merit, and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship.
The institution of the Junior Division of the National Beta Club was authorized by the National Beta Club Senate in 1961. The membership of the club is composed of students from the fifth grade to the ninth grade from schools in every state of the nation and some foreign countries.

Rainbow Middle School received its National Junior Beta Club charter in 1990. Each year new members are added to the club, but in order to remain a member, they must maintain standards in academic achievement and worthy character.
