Assembly Line Pictures

Students learn the process of an assembly line in manufacturing.

We put Henry Ford's methods of producing the Model T to the test. Students had to first work on their own to see how many cars they could produce in 15 min. Their task was to draw, color, cut-out, and glue the car to another sheet. Each car had to be exactly alike. They had to complete the entire process before they could go on to another car. Most students completed 2-4 cars.
Then they got into groups of 3-4. They formed an assembly line to perform the same task in the same amount of time. One student drew the car, the next colored, etc. Groups working as an assembly line were able to produce up to 20 or more cars in the same amount of time. The students really learned a lot about team performance.
